Toronto-based artist Rosa Sung studied Interpretive Illustration at Sheridan College, her soft pastel painting style was developed throughout this school years. She had been doing freelance pastel work since the early 2000, involved in various local projects and commission works, but soon she got recruited to the graphic industry and pastel had been replaced by keyboard and mouse for more than a decade.
Since her marriage to a musician in 2014, and through this relationship, Rosa was impressed by her husband on how live music was delivered from player to audiences, from heart to heart and decided to go back to the basics and simply draw by hand. Ever since then they had been dedicating a couple hours each day as their creative time focusing on what they enjoy the most. And that’s where brought Rosa back to her first love of pastel painting.
Rosa is a fan of travel, food and fine art, and that’s all the inspiration came from.
